About the Trainer
Tri County Canine was built on one belief — every dog can be trained. It just takes the right approach.
Bob Ungurean
Head Trainer & Founder
I have been a dual purpose Police K-9 handler for over six years. I founded the K-9 Unit at my Department, and attended the Philadelphia Police K-9 Academy with my partner, a Czech Shepherd - who did not know the English language when we were first paired. As a K-9 handler, I have competed in numerous competitions, often ranking within the top tier of teams. Moreover, I was elected to be the United States Police Canine Association Region 6 President; the largest and oldest certifying body for police canines in the country. I founded Tri County Canine, LLC. shortly after taking an 'E-Collar without Conflict' course by Eric Stanbro. I have taken countless other courses from nationally recognized trainers and most notably completed the NePoPo Silver program. While not training 'pet dogs,' I have hosted seminars for active K-9 handlers. Professionals within the industry recognize and trust my ability to read dogs. There is no training program identical to mine in the area. I utilize a balanced approach built on clear communication and consistency. Dogs that complete my programs are resilient, responsive and trusted by their owners. While I consider myself a 'pointy ear dog' expert, the majority of my clients own docile family dogs such as Labrador Retrievers and Goldendoodles. Whether it is the five pound teacup poodle I have trained, or one- hundred and fifty pound St. Bernard, the results do not differ!
I don't believe in shortcuts. Every dog is different, and every training plan is built around that individual dog's drives, temperament, and the owner's goals. The result is a dog that listens because it wants to — not because it's afraid not to.
Let's talk about your dog.
Every dog deserves a trainer who takes the time to understand them.
